Jungian Analyst in Training
Welcome
Welcome to my website. I am a Jungian Analyst in Training at the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy (WMIP). I work in private practice in Alvechurch, near Birmingham, UK.
Analytic Psychotherapy
Analytic Psychotherapy is an in-depth approach to talk therapy, which seeks to bring union between the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind. The creative heart of Analytical Psychotherapy is Individuation, a lifelong process by which we try to incorporate greater and greater amounts of the unconscious, with the aim of fulfilling our potential to become all that we can be.Jungian Analysts believe that when an individual’s authentic self is blocked, mental health issues can form, manifesting as depression, a lack of identity, a sense of meaninglessness, anxiety, etc. Issues in interpersonal relationships and destructive relationship patterns are often interconnected.

Issues
You may have a clear idea of the problems you wish to work on, but that is not always the case. Often clients come to analysis because they are experiencing more generalised feelings of listlessness, derealisation, sadness, a lack of potency or apathy. You may also feel restless, as though you are constantly striving for something, leaving you unable to truly relax and enjoy life.I aim to create a confidential space where you can safely and creatively explore your thoughts and feelings, your fears and desires. This generative environment will open up the potential for psychic development, new perspectives and a more coherent, authentic sense of self.
‘Futurity grows out of me; I do not create it, and yet I do, though not deliberately and wilfully, but rather against will and intention.’
C.G. Jung, The Red Book, Liber Secundus.
